JD:
Provide consultancy of application and installation of Engines and Gensets to Customer or Customer’s consultant or End-User. Supervise and coordinate all Engines/Gensets installation design for certifying that Engines/Gensets are appropriated with Caterpillar Standard.
- Work closely with Sales Engineers to ensure that the product being quoted includes all items that are defined in the customer scope of supply.
- Provide recommendations and engineering assistance for customers to make advised decisions relating to correct rating and proper application.
- Assist sales representatives with customer liaison relating to technical and installation issues.
- Prepare and execute the technical data, installation drawing and wiring and termination schematics to guide Customer through correct installation design.
- Work closely with and provide support to the Phu Thai CAT Project Installation & Commissioning Team to ensure all activities are in conformity with Company and Caterpillar guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain up to date with current application and installation bulletins for Caterpillar Engines and Gensets.
- Perform installation audit and coordinate the start-up and commissioning schedule in cooperation with Phu Thai CAT Project Installation & Commissioning Team.
- Maintain a detailed and up-to-date project log and filing system to ensure ease of access to project related documents by all Department Management and Staff
- Provide Application Support Manager with timely, concise progress and status reports.
- Prepare Monthly/weekly Project Report, and any other departmental reports which may be requested by management from time-to-time.
- Prepare technical proposal in time
- Knowledge of project management to be lead to meet schedule and target
- The incumbent is required at all times to participate & contribute as a team member
Work experience:
At least 3-5 years of working experience with similar duties as an Application Engineer, Site Engineer, or Project Engineer
Other Requirements:
- Recognized University degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
- Proficient in MS OFFICE based programs
- Proficient in use and application of Auto-CAD.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable industry (Marine, Electrical Power Generation, Petroleum, Industrial) and associated products.
- Good exposure to Medium and Hi Speed Engine Product application, installation, commissioning and operation. (CAT, Perkins, Cummins, Volvo, MTU, Yanmar, Wartsila etc.)
- Sound communication skills and Inter-personal skills
- Demonstrated Planning and Teamwork skill.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
